Deciding on a Firm How does one find the right accounting firm? Take the time to research the right firm for your needs. Ask some questions:
- What is your typical clients’ gross revenue?
- What is your area of expertise?
- Can I get some referrals?
- How many clients in my industry are you working with now?
- What is your fee structure?
Decision time – Now choose your accountant / CPA : Based on the above, you should have some good information to decide. Also, ask for referrals from your friends or other business associates. Remember, you get what you pay for. If all you want is your tax return prepared, then you can go to H&R block and get it done cheap. But if you want some good tax planning, or some one to sit down and be part of your financial team, then you need to interview for the right team member.
